Featuring the best and most well established talent from around India and the globe , the night promises something for people of all tastes. The evening starts off with some great live/acoustic sound on the roof courtesy the bands followed by some crunky beats by the DJ's on the electrics To kick off the series, we have Menwhopause and Indigo Children LIVE on the roof --- post that ---- 4x4, minimal techno, progressive, glitch&dub by BlueOrb, Kohra and Antiq. ~LINEUP~ ★ MENWHOPAUSE ★ menwhopause is a five-member band from New Delhi, India known for being one of the first bands in India to distribute their music for free over the internet. Their first EP called 'The story begins...' was released online as a free download in 2003. The band has toured the USA twice with an appearance at SxSW 2007, Austin, Texas and a full-fledged tour of Texas. The band won the 2008 Jack Daniels' Best Band of the Year award and got an opportunity to work with REM’s producer Dave Barbe. The second album ‘Easy’ was first recorded in a campsite in Uttaranchal after which it took the band four years to re-record and produce the album. Having signed up with EMI-Virgin Records India in 2009, ‘Easy’ is menwhopause’s major label debut. They first found recognition playing pubs and college fests around India. Some of the bigger competitions they won over their first few years include Campus Rock Idols in 2005, the Great Indian Rock festival 2006 and Channel [V] Launch pad. These competitions brought them Nation-wide attention among the underground rock scene and built the foundations for a fan-base. Indigo Children were one of the few bands chosen to represent India in Singapore for Sutasi, a reality television show, featuring talent across Asia. They were also one of the four bands chosen to record with world - renowned producer John Leckie as a part of the British Council’s Soundpad. As a part of the Soundpad project the band went on a 2 - week tour of the United Kingdom; playing at festivals and venues such as ‘The Great Escape festival, Brighton’ and ‘the Barfly’. The band has also opened for Bryan Adams, Your Code Name is Milo, Freak Kitchen, Intronaut, Benea Reach and Backstreet Boys in India. Indigo Children comprises Sanchal Malhar and Nikhil Rufus Raj, featuring an extended line up for the live act. Conceptualized in 2004 he has been a driving force in promoting and spinning electronic chillout at various music events in India, while further expanding his style towards the dancefloor in 2007. buffaPirate is his alter ego to plunder a unique take on bass heavy electronic music. His sets can best be described as an amalgamation of west coast glitch-hop, reggae/hip-hop infused dubstep, big room breaks along with funk driven fidget-bassline house. His sets always keep the dance floor on its toes with surprises lurking at every junction & have drawn a positive response across a varied audience. Raw analog signals and lush soundscapes mixed with percussion sounds and sharp glitches is what can be heard through his mysterious productions. A style that is intelligent enough to mesmerize, yet simple enough to move you. Constantly paving the way for a new sub-culture of underground dance music is no task for the timid, which is why he has already become the first Indian to have hit the top 10 charts on global industry standards such as Beatport. As a producer his music has been signed to many well respected international record labels including Sounds Of Earth, Trident Music, Wide Angle Recordings and Echoes Records to name a few. His Live set comprise his own productions performed in a deconstructive format with a constantly evolving component of granular synthesis, vocal sampling, various percussion and effect units. As a Dj, his sets are extremely captivating and reflect a distinct progressive, organic and streamlined approach to techno. He maintains that not only through his high standards of track selection but also with the release schedule of his own quality imprint of Qilla Records. Kohra has performed at some of the best festivals in India, Dubai, Italy and Australia and is also the official label Dj for Zenon Records. The fact that he has been officially endorsed by leading brands such as Blackberry and Puma is only further authentication of his work.
